Post Your Open Mic, Free
If you run an open mic, you can now put it on Funny.CEO in about a minute, for nothing. Alongside it: every tip on the site is now paid in dollars the comic can cash, each show's money is checked against what the bank actually moved, and our Terms say plainly where your money goes — asked about once, when you first pay us, not on the way in.
What's new
Post Your Open Mic
Search for the bar, pick the next date and time, and say how comics get on the list — a sign-up at the door, a bucket draw, or online. A weekly mic is listed twelve weeks at a time and you keep it going with one tap, so comics never cross town for a mic that stopped running. Free, with no tickets and no fees; if the room has a drink minimum or a door fee, the listing says so and who it is paid to.
Tips Are Money
Tips on stage, on a comic's page and on the 24/7 Mic now arrive as dollars the comic can cash out. Our fee and card processing are added on top and shown before you pay; the comic gets every cent of the tip.
Every Show's Money, Checked
The night after a show, its takings, refunds and payouts are compared with what Stripe actually moved, and any difference is explained in plain words to the organizer. A payment to a comic that fails, a refund that does not go through, or a fan who paid and got no ticket now reaches a person at once.
A Comic's Face, With Their Say-So
The pages we build for touring comics from public listings now show their name and their dates, and no photograph until they claim the page. Each one says plainly that we made it, not them; claiming it brings the photo back, and asking us to take it down still works from the page itself.
Terms in Plain English
Who you buy a ticket from, what a cancellation refund covers, what FUs are and are not. If you have an account, we ask you to agree once — at the moment you first pay us, not when you visit.
Refinements
- An open mic with a sign-up list at the door no longer offers a "Claim Your Spot" button that the host never sees; the page says how that mic actually works.
- Shows' dates can now be checked and converted to one shape from the admin screen, so a show is no longer missed by a listing that reads dates a different way.
