The Crocodile

The Crocodile is a cornerstone of Seattle’s entertainment history, originally opening in 1991 as a defining fixture of the city's grunge scene. Now located in a multi-stage complex in the heart of Belltown, the venue has expanded its legacy well beyond its musical roots. Comedy fans primarily gather in "Here-After," an intimate room designed specifically for stand-up, film screenings, and live podcast tapings. This polished space maintains the independent, artist-focused spirit that has defined the venue for decades. The programming blends nationally touring headliners with local showcases and experimental comedy. Now under ownership connected to the Upright Citizens Brigade, the venue remains a frequent stop for major names looking to refine new material. It has hosted acclaimed performers such as Taylor Tomlinson, Hannibal Buress, and David Cross for work-in-progress sets. With a calendar featuring stars like Maria Bamford and Joanne McNally, the room offers an up-close experience where audiences can catch established legends in a historic setting.
