Matt Cameron

Matt Cameron is an award-winning Australian comedian, writer, and playwright who has been a cornerstone of the comedy landscape since the early 1990s. Renowned for his sharp wit and "postmodern absurdist" edge, Cameron first made his mark penning monologue jokes for national television before becoming a key writer for iconic sketch shows like Full Frontal and Eric Bana’s Eric. Fans of satirical comedy recognize him as a vital voice behind Shaun Micallef’s Newstopia and as the co-creator and director of the cult-favorite series Introducing Gary Petty. On stage, Cameron’s background as a premier playwright—responsible for acclaimed works like Ruby Moon and Mr Melancholy—infuses his comedy with a unique narrative depth and dark, observational humor. His ability to find the profound in the mundane has earned him numerous accolades, including multiple AWGIE Awards and the Wal Cherry Play of the Year.
